July TOTALS for Budget!

This month I decided to keep track of all my purchases for food, hygiene/health & beauty, cleaning supplies, etc. This also included money spent on newspapers, ebay purchases for coupons AND any eating out (including those vending machine purchases). My budget for my family is no more than $100 per week ($25/person...myself, and 3 children). Since today is the last day of the month I thought I'd post my totals!

OOP: $253.05 (including taxes)

Total Savings: $1880.13

Average Savings: 88%

Not only did I NOT go over my budget but I have a NICE stockpile of alot of great things! I am very satisfied!

Walgreens July 31st ONLY

Walgreens has just issued a Friends & Family coupon to use tomorrow July 31st only. It is for 15% off qualifiying purchases and 20% off Walgreens and W Brand Products. Staples 8/2-8/7

Looking for a HOT deal for school supplies? I know I am! It looks like Staples may be starting there penny sales again this year. Starting Sunday there are ONE PENNY packs of paper. Staples 8x10 1/2" Filler Paper (wide/college ruled) 120 count. There is a limit of 5 per customer. So for 5 cents you can get 600 sheets of paper! Knowing how my kids go thru paper we will all be heading to Staples Sunday morning (after I stop for newspapers LOL). This sale is only good thru Wednesday and while supplies last! Of course there are other items on sale as well but this is the ONLY one I see for a penny. Sunday Coupon Inserts Preview

Just previewed the new inserts for this coming Sunday (8/2) and I must say I am definitely impressed!!!!! According to The Coupon Clippers we should expect 5 inserts (2 Smart Sources, a Valassis, a P&G and a "Other")!!!! The P&G insert will be fabulous to match up with the Kroger sale going on thru the 8th of August. The "Other" insert has lots of Kellogg's and Keebler coupons! Mark those calendars! Just got the confirmation email August 16-22! I'm in NKY and all my local stores ARE participating (Erlanger, Florence, & Newport). Here are the other details:

Super Double Manufacturer Coupons Up to $2.00 with purchase of $25 or more in grocery & drugstore merchandise. Limit 10 coupons per customer per day. Grocery and drugstore items include: all food items, health & beauty, baby diapers, household cleaning supplies, pet foods, detergents, paper goods, shampoos and other beauty items, over the counter medicines such as : Tylenol, aspirin, etc.10 coupons, per day, per customer may be doubled. Additional coupons will be honored, just not doubled. Customer should choose which 10 they would like doubled.....$25 threshold is BEFORE coupon redemption.

In the past the Erlanger store has NEVER limited me to 10 coupons per day BUT normally only 4 of any like item. I always go in the door asking Customer Service if they are limiting to 10.

Meijer Clearance Find!!!!

While at Meijer this evening I found on clearance in the cooler section (across from the butter) Trix 6 packs of yogurt marked down to $.57! I had 3 coupons for $.35 off any 1 so purchased 3...or should I say received 3 for FREE after my coupons doubled! Gotta love those kind of clearance finds. I always watch the dates on purchases like these and the expiration date is not even until 8/2/2009!!!! WOW! I'm sure the kiddos will have eaten these up by then!

E-coupons?

What is a e-coupon? It's an extra savings that you can load directly onto your shopper card. (I know everybody has one of those right? If not shame on you they are FREE).

1. You can stack an ecoupon with a paper coupon

2. You can only upload 50 coupons to your card at one time

3. Once you upload the coupon, it will NOT be removed until you purchase the item, or it expires.

4. You can only purchase 1 item per coupon.

5. These e coupons DO NOT DOUBLE!!!

When looking at the Meijer ad this week I didn't get too excited. They are running a promotion of buy 10 participating items for $20 get $5 OYNO coupon. When comparing it to Kroger Mega Sale I just am not seeing the worth in it.

However, there are a few deals that I will go after this week!

Here is what I found! They are continuing the buy $10 worth of Kellogg's, Keebler, or Eggo products get $10 off a backpack. You could do this promotion and get a FREE backpack if you pick the right one. And Buy one backpack get one for $1.00! And don't forget you could donate this for the upcoming Coupon Social!!!!

Also continuing buy $10 worth of Huggies, Kleenex, Cottonelle, or Scott Paper Products receive $10 off 3 packs of Fruit of the Loom Basics for the Family (socks, underware, undershirts, etc.) You can find socks for less than $4 a pack and also I found some on clearance making your OOP very minimal! (I got 2 packs of womens 7 pair socks $4 each and a 3 pack on clearance for $2.49 making my OOP .49)

I freeze these and use as needed and it works perfect for me and for FREE I stock up!

Kraft Mac n' Cheese are on sale for .50 a box. B3G1 MQ coupons out making this a good deal for me. If you buy 6 or more you get a $2.00 OYNO catalina coupon. I suggest buying 8 in one transaction pay $3.00 OOP receive $2.00 OYNO catalina! Make this transaction multiple times and roll the catalina and pay $1.00 OOP.

I also found French's mustard for $1.24 a bottle have MQ for .55 off pay .24! Make this deal even sweeter they have peelies on them for buy that bottle get FREE Brown or Honey Mustard! 2 bottles of mustard for .24 good deal for me!

Let's Go Krogering!!!

Kroger is continuing the Mega Deal Sale this week! Yay! I scored alot of good deals last week and may or may not go back for any Big deals...

I will be heading there for Milk and a few other odds and ends this week. The boys are home from school for the summer and eat ALOT of cereal which then equals alot of milk.

1/2 gallons of Kroger milk are .79 with Kroger card (if you don't have one...JUST DO IT ALREADY!) Limit of 8.

Eclipse Gum is BOGO and I have coupons out of the July issue of All You Magazine making these FREE. (I also ordered more of these off ebay 10 for $1.50 Making this 20 packs of gum for $1.50)

Oral B Indicator Toothbrushes 10/$10 this week. $1.00 off any Oral-B Manual Brush Single Pack MQ Exp 7/31/2009 Making this FREE! (I have 7 coupons!) (this is a stockpile item! Can NEVER have 2 many toothbrushes!)

Start Up!

I am very excited to be starting this as many of you have suggested and encouraged. If you don't know me I am a single mother of 3 beautiful children and have struggled for YEARS to just provide the necessities for my children. After a friend of mine suggested I taking a coupon class that Becky @ Nickels-n-dimes.com was offering I said hey why not can't lose anything... I left there and immediately saved over $65 at the grocery store (the same day!) I was amazed that it could actually be done. In the class it was said it could take months before you could actually stockpile and see the savings....me not so much it took me weeks! I was excited and got started right away.

The purpose of this blog is to share the savings that I am obtaining and pass them on to you! Over the last 3 weeks alone I have saved over $1400 and spent less than $150. If I can do it ANYBODY can! It's not hard and doesn't take rocket science to do it! I have a budget that I try to stick to the best I can and so far I have came well below the budget. My budget is just $100 a week (family of 4 x $25 a piece). This includes eating out, groceries, health & beauty items, cleaning supplies, coupons (I buy some on Ebay), and cost of newspapers.
